Anneke Borren, important and rare stoneware prototype lamp base, with sand filling, commissioned for the Beehive in 1976, height 49 cm, this and the following example were made as a group of twenty-four when Anneke Borren was part of the Beehive interior design team. This was Anneke Borren's first major commission. These two examples have been retained in Anneke's collection since the date of the commission; one other known surviving example is held in the national collection of Te Papa Tongarewa.
