A fine Japanese cloisonne vase, taisho period (1912-1926), with an egg shaped body surmounted by an unusual tapering rectangular neck, the body in rose blush graduating to off white and decorated with a continuous decoration of birds in flight; the red brown neck with copper pyrite inclusions and decorative panels, including a child at play and children emulating birds. Height 24.5 cm
