A fine quality Persian scenic silk rug early 20th century, signed, the central cartouche depicting a dense forest scene with floral and faunal motifs on a ruby red ground, bordered by a wide panel with further faunal motifs in tonal colours of putty grey, sand, sage green, on an indigo ground, signed to the central lower panel in Arabic, 242 x 154 cm.
cartouche. An ornamental panel in the form of of a shield, oval or rectangular scroll with curling edges.
