A George II silver swing-handled bread basket, by Samuel Herbert & Co, London 1752, of oval form, the sides pierced with scroll and flower head motifs, engraved with a contemporary coat of arms, wheatsheaf and vine rim, scroll and classical mask foot, base engraved with scratch weight '49=1'. Length 34 cm, weight 48oz, weight 1500gms.
