Impressive Australian silver emu egg inkwell, by Joachim Matthias Wendt (1830 -1917), stippled brown emu egg with inset cameo of Australian bush native scene, surmounted by an inkwell with galah on branch cover, the base & stand decorated with a naturalistic Australian bush scene, of two emus & two kangaroos, the main trunk with two branches extending to form a quill or pen rest, stamped to base J.M. Wendt Adelaide, (egg has a hairline crack between cameo and lid), height 25 cm
