Ujifusa signed Owari Province Katana the original Tang of gentle kurijiri shape, in shirasaya. Forging is mokume-hada, the hamon is notare mixed with gunome, & the boshi is midarekomi with hakikake. Mounted in a custom made plain wood shirasaya. The blade has the traditional koto tapering curve & length. There are several smiths who signed with just two kanji for Ujifusa & which one made this sword is not clear. The shape & style are typical of the Koto period but it May have been made later. Condition excellent, the blade is in fine condition is in full Japanese polish & a strong two character signature. Length of nagasa 71 cm. Width at habaki 3.1 cm
