Ink and brush on paper, two sparrows swinging on trailing willow branches, Artist Chang Chien-Ying [1913-2004], a well known female student of Xu Beihong, signed centre right, two red seals, one the family name of the artist and one the first name, Zhang Qian Ying, condition: Foxed, laid down. Original framing., note: Chien-Ying studied Art at Nanjing University. Won a grant to study at the Slade school of Art London, and lived in Britain for the next 50 years, a member of Royal Academy, Royal Society of Painters in watercolour and Society of Women Artist. Christian Dior commissioned her to design a silk pattern for him., 34 x 46 cm
