Douglas, Neil. Neil Douglas was born in New Zealand in 1911. He studied painting at the National Gallery School, Melbourne, but devoted most of his time to pottery until 1964 when he held his first one- man exhibition of paintings at the Toorak Gallery in Melbourne. ln latter years Neil Douglas has been a champion of causes, especially the protection of the natural environment.
