Draw leaf table. A form of extension table, introduced during Elizabethan times and revived during the 20th century. A leaf at each end of the rectangular table is attached to lopers or bearers. When in use, the leaves slide from beneath the central top section, which drops down to provide a flat, uniform surface. A French version of the draw leaf table, manufactured between 1930 and 1950, is currently very popular, due to the good value if offers the purchaser. These tables often have a parquetry inlaid top.
